The Schlitz Quarts

Since 1849 we've been drinking beer instead of wine...

Background

In 1991 we created a band with the sole purpose of entertaining the masses with an audio and visual extravaganza.  And writing only songs about beer, except one.  Consisting of between six and twelve members, it often included the bass, drums, guitar, mandolin, harmonica as well as  jugglers, maraca, violinists and a lead cigar player.  We played all over Austin, TX from parties to apartments to any outdoor venue we could invade.  Charging $50 and 6 cases of Schlitz (or something like that, no one actually remembers anymore...) we brought the party wherever we played.

In our final year of performing, we recorded "Live at Zeppoli's" in Austin, TX - took a roadtrip to New Orleans during Mardi Gras to perform on Jackson Square and outside of the Boot (where we were teargassed) and threw the Schlitz Quarts' Last Bash.
